The Tamaha Giant

The Tamaha Giant

Palmer Rustic Furniture recently had the opportunity to cut down what once was the largest oak tree in Oklahoma, known as The Tamaha Giant, after it died in a drought. This tree which sprouted up circa 1890, was apparently in the perfect location for growing. It survived WWI, WWII and many other historical events over it’s 120 year lifespan.

Owner and creator, Mr. Kelly Palmer, felt it was his duty to preserve the historical remains of the tree. He purchased special equipment to remove the tree and later started a small family owned business known today as Palmer Rustic Furniture. Mr. Palmer and his crew build single board tables, bar tops and timeline rings. These works of art are clearly collector’s items and can be cherished for eternity.
